ukulele

bad ukulele

So, I started this project with no idea about how to build a ukulele. With the advice of my teacher I looked on youtube.com and found a million, (ok, a bunch), of documentaries on how to build a ukulele. The problem was they were really long. I must have watched youtube for at least a couple hours. I also looked at blogs and message boards. That's actually where I found the "fret calculator", which was like finding gold. The videos show you how to build a ukulele, but they leave out very important info that would only apply to the ukulele they are building. So, once I had done all my research it was time to build.
I had a cold and built the entire thing on the porch of my apt. using benches stacked up as a work bench. The cold comes into play because I kept forgetting to film things and then would have to take the uke apart or film it when it was done. I tried to make a story board but it went by the wayside pretty fast. That was it.
Imovie was really easy to learn and the help section came in really handy. Especially when recording the sound. I have to keep recording over existing sound because my voice would go horse. There are about 10 vocal tracks on this thing. Also, I couldn't resist using the "ken Burns Effect" on the first picture...I mean, come on, it's the Ken Burns effect!
